New Orleans Pelicans guard, Jose Alvarado, is highly likely to miss upcoming training camp due to an injury he sustained a few days ago. This has been revealed by Shams Charania of The Athletic, in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday, Sept. 17. In this piece, however, we discussed Jose Alvarado injury updates.
Alvarado becomes the second player to be featured in his team’s injury list ahead of training camp. The first to enter the list was Trey Murphy III who suffered torn meniscus.
According to the famed NBA journalist who cited unnamed sources, “…Jose Alvarado suffered an ankle sprain during a workout this weekend and his availability for training camp is in question.”

The 25-year-old player already missed the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 because of a stress reaction in his right tibia that prematurely ended his season in March.
Alvarado was recovering from the injury at the time, and the Pelicans did not allow him to participate neither in training camp nor in the tournament itself.
Last season, the player averaged 9.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game in 61 appearances for the Pelicans.
Alvarado went undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft, but signed a two-way contract with the Pelicans. He made his NBA debut on November 3, 2021, and quickly became a fan favorite for his energy and defense.
