Following the death of popular Nigerian singer, Mohbad, people have been curious to know the whereabouts of his former label boss, Naira Marley. The question they ask is: “Where is Naira Marley now?” The current location of Naira Marley is unknown, since people started calling him out for having something to do with Mohbad’s sudden demise which occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
A lot of Nigerians are accusing Marley and one of his closest associates, Sam Larry, of being Mohbad’s cause of death. This is because of how the Marley and his boys treated the deceased singer till death.
Mohbad was signed to Marley’s Marlian Music record label. However, he exited the label in October 2022 after Marley ordered his boys to assault him when he demanded that his manager be changed. His exit seemed to not sit well with his boss, who would later sent guys after his life.
In a video that circulated online sometime ago, the late singer mentioned Marley, Sam Larry and a few others, as the people after his life.
All these incidents may have been the reason behind people’s belief that the Marlian Music boss had a hand in the death of the 27-year-old “Beast & Peace” hitmaker.
The late singer died on September 12, and was buried the next day as though he was a Muslim. He left behind a wife, Omowunmi, and a 5-month-old son.
So where is Naira Marley now?
As at the time of writing this piece, the current location of the “soapy” crooner is unknown.
However, unverified reports on social media platforms, have it that the singer is in Amsterdam, Netherlands. According to the sources, Marley is in that city with singer Zinoleesky who is also under fire.
Marley is a Nigerian and British citizen, and has residential properties in these two countries. So, it could be that he’s still in Nigeria or in the United Kingdom or Netherlands, where the unverified reports claim he is.
Will Naira Marley be arrested?
Fans of the late Mohbad keep calling on the police in Lagos to arrest Marley. But the police are yet to say if they will arrest him or not. However, the police have sent him an invitation to appear before them for interrogation.
Actress Iyabo Ojo disclosed this after she led a group of Nollywood entertainers to the Lagos State Police commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa.
According to Ojo, the police will issue a local and international arrest warrant on Marley, if he fails to show up for the interrogation.
“So, all the names mentioned, both Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and every other person, he said they have been given a few days to respond, that’s to show face. It is said that ‘a clear conscience fears no accusation.
“The police said after a few days, if they didn’t turn up, a warrant for their arrest would be issued and they would be declared wanted if they didn’t come. Apart from the fact they are not in Nigeria, if that’s the case, no matter where they are in the world, they will fish them out through INTERPOL,” Ojo said in a video posted to his Instagram.
How can Marley be arrested if he’s not Nigeria?
Where Naira Marley is now, remains a mystery. But police in Lagos made it clear that they would arrest him if he fails to show up. If it happens that the singer is not in Nigeria, then INTERPOL will be used to get him. But if he’s in Nigeria, then the local police will effect the arrest.
Ongoing investigations into Mohbad’s death
The police have also far exhumed the mortal remains of the late singer. Police carried out he exhumation on Thursday, Sept. 21, in collaboration with the Lagos state health commission.
Authorities removed the remains so that they could conduct autopsy on it to unravel the cause of death.
In addition, the police are yet to make any arrests.
