Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen and her entire family has been thrown into mourning following the demise of her mother, Vania Nonnenmacher, who reportedly passed away at the age of 75.
It was gathered that Nonnenmacher succumbed to her battle with cancer at Hospital Moinhos de Vento in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Nonnenmacher was a mother to six girls: Rafaela, Graziela, Gabriela, Raquel, Gisele, and her twin sister, Patricia.
Gisele grew to become a global fashion icon, but initially aspired to be a professional volleyball player.
However, in 1993, her mother enrolled her and her sisters in a modeling course, ultimately leading to Gisele’s discovery by Elite Model Management.
Money cannot buy health
Earlier this month, Gisele opened up about her parents’ health while promoting her upcoming cookbook, “Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul.”
In the interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she echoed the importance of health.
To her, “You can have all the money in the world. If you don’t have your health, it’s not possible to buy it back.”
The Brazilian beauty shared a rare family photo on Instagram at the start of the year.
She expressed love while reconnecting with her five sisters.
Gisele has two children, Benjamin and Vivian.
The two kids are products of her marriage to her ex-husband, retired NFL great Tom Brady. The couple divorced amicably.
Path to meaningful life
The supermodel reflected on her joyful childhood in her 2018 memoir, “Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life”.
She described it as the “best childhood in the world” with six lively voices at the dinner table.
Vania Nonnenmacher’s death marks a profound loss for the Bundchen family.
Condolences have poured in from fans and well-wishers.
Limited details have been released regarding her passing, and it remains unclear how long she had been battling cancer.
