Marriage Talks with Ex

Tish Cyrus has opened up about her marriage and the 2022 divorce from her country star husband after nearly three decades together, sharing her experience on a “Call Her Daddy” episode. She revealed that she went through a “breakdown” following the death of her mother and the end of her marriage happening closely in succession.

“I experienced, like, a full-on — honestly — complete mental breakdown. It was the most difficult thing,” Cyrus expressed. “I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t stop crying. I was weighing, like, 103 lbs. … Losing my mom and then losing my husband, was devastating.”

Cyrus mentioned that Billy Ray had been a significant part of her life, meeting him when she was around 24 years old. They share three adult children: Miley, Braison, and Noah, and Billy Ray Cyrus also legally adopted Tish Cyrus’ children from a previous relationship, Brandi and Trace.

Now 56, Cyrus shared with People magazine in a recent interview, “I understand why women hesitate to leave, not only toxic relationships but also to venture into new careers and other endeavors.”

“I was genuinely terrified,” she admitted. “I wish to be a beacon of hope for women our age and simply say, I assure you that sometimes starting anew is the best decision you can make. It has been incredibly rewarding for me.”

One of her biggest fears, she told the publication, was that she wouldn’t find love again. That is not the case. Cyrus and “Prison Break” actor Dominic Purcell married in 2023. Billy Ray Cyrus has also remarried, after getting engaged last year to Australian singer, Firerose.
