The Inevitable Question: When Will Jimmy Carter Die?

Former US President, Jimmy Carter, has been the talk of town in the last several hours following the burial of his wife of 77 years, Eleanor Rosalynn Carter, on Tuesday, November 28. The 39th President’s wife died on November 19 at the age of 96, and now the funny question some people are asking is when will Jimmy Carter die? In this piece, we discussed just that.

Who is Jimmy Carter?

James Earl Carter Jr. is an American politician and philanthropist who served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He is a member of the club of ex presidents of the US who only served one term of four years.

Carter was born on October 1, 1924, in Plains, Georgia. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1946 and served in the Navy for seven years. He was deployed Pacific Ocean during World War II. After leaving the Navy, Carter returned to Plains to manage his family’s peanut farm.

He entered politics in 1962, and was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 1963. He however, bowed out in 1967 after serving a term. In 1971, he was elected the 76th governor of Georgia and served in this capacity till 1975.

As governor, Carter focused on improving the state’s education system, reforming its criminal justice system, and promoting economic development. He also played a leading role in the Democratic Party’s efforts to reform the federal government and address issues such as poverty, civil rights, and environmental protection.

In 1976, Carter was elected president of the United States. He defeated incumbent president Gerald Ford in a close election.

Unfortunately, he was defeated in his bid for re-election in 1980 by Ronald Reagan. After leaving office, he founded the Carter Center, a non-profit organization that works to advance human rights and democracy around the world. Carter has also been a vocal advocate for peace and nuclear disarmament. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Nobel Peace Prize, which he was awarded in 2002.

When will Jimmy Carter die?

Currently, Jimmy Carter holds the record as the longest-living U.S. president in history. He is married to Rosalynn Smith Carter since 1946, and they have four children.

Since the death of his wife almost two weeks ago, a lot of people keep asking when he will pass on to eternity just as his wife did. Carter is currently 99 years old, and has been living in a hospice care since February. On Tuesday, he attended his deceased wife’s funeral service in a wheelchair. It was the first time he was seen in public for 10 months.

Meanwhile, it is completely impossible to predict when Jimmy Carter will die, even though his old age and health issues give indications that he may be getting very closer to his grave.

Only God knows when a person will die, and not humans. Therefore, no one can predict exactly the date a person will die.
