He has bagged 24 Grammy Awards, the Joint tenth-most of all time and most awarded for any hip hop artist jointly with Jay-Z.
Ye took the internet community by surprise as he unveiled a jaw-dropping set of titanium grills worth a staggering $850,000.
The unique dental structure was inspired by Jaws, the iconic villain from James Bond films.
His new set of teeth caught the attention of social media, sparking wild reactions as many wondered whether Ye had removed his natural teeth.
Did Kanye West remove his natural teeth?
On Wednesday, Ye took to his Instagram Story to share a glimpse of his extravagant dental transformation, revealing an open mouth adorned with what seemed to be titanium covered by another material.
Contrary to rumors circulating on social media, a source close to Ye clarified, “The technical term is fixed prosthodontics. They are fixed and permanent. This goes way beyond veneers or grills. It’s quite unlike anything that has been done before. All that said, his teeth weren’t removed.”
The historic dental procedure, described as experimental dentistry, crafted a denture-like structure unique to Ye’s teeth.
The $850,000 prosthodontics is confirmed to be a collaborative work between Ye and a team of dentists and cosmetic surgeons.
Beverly Hills-based dentist Thomas Connelly, played a pivotal role in manufacturing the unique model tailored to fit Ye’s vision.
Connelly is well-known for his custom dental art for entertainers and athletes.
Connelly confirmed, “Ye was a pleasure to work with every step of the process. His vision for designing unique art transcends the dental progression.”
Dispelling rumors, Connelly affirmed that Ye’s natural teeth remain intact.
He added, “He did not have his teeth removed. He still has a full dentition. Healthy and happy.”
Dental technician Naoki Hayashi, who worked on the prosthesis, addressed speculations by sharing an article on Instagram that suggested teeth removal.
However, Connelly’s statements and Ye’s history of altering dental designs support the idea that the artist’s teeth are unharmed.
This latest stunt coincides with Ye’s upcoming album collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign titled “Vultures,” adding another layer of intrigue to the artist’s ever-evolving persona.
