Sasha Montenegro cause of death: What killed the Mexican actress and widow of former President Lopez Portillo?

Amidst the festivities of the Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, February 14, the death of Mexican actress and vedette, Sasha Montenegro at the age of 78 was reported.

As many basked in the euphoria of the Valentine’s Day, with love photos styled with the color of the day (Red), her daughter, Nabila Lopez Portillo, broke the news.

Who was Sasha Montenegro?

Aleksandra Aimovi Popovi, popularly known as Sasha Montenegro, was born on January 20, 1946 in Bari, Italy, although her parents were originally from Yugoslavia.

The celebrity belongs to the aristocratic family of Montenegro, hence her stage name, who were killed in a Nazi concentration camp in World War II.

She became a shinning light in the early 70’s at the age of 23.

Little by little she topped her popularity as she began to work in more films and even soap operas.

Worthy of note is the fact that many remember the actress for her controversial romance with Jose Lopez Portillo, a former president of Mexico.

During the 1970s and 1980s she was considered one of the most important actresses in Mexican cinema, as well as a vedette.

The widow of the former president of Mexico, died of a stroke.

This stroke was caused by the lung cancer she had been suffering from for several years.
