Megan Thee Stallion has come under heavy criticism from Megan Kanka’s family following a lyrics in her latest song “Hiss.”
The Houston rapper released a track titled, Hiss, last Friday, January 26, 2024, sparking a feud with Nicki Minaj. The lyrics seemingly target Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, a convicted sex offender.
“Megan’s Law,” named after Megan Kanka, mandates sharing information about registered sex offenders with the public.
Megan Kanka was murdered in 1994 at the age of seven by a neighbour who wasn’t legally required to disclose his status.
Richard Kanka, Megan’s father, condemned Megan Thee Stallion for using his daughter’s name, as he considers it highly offensive to their painful memories.
He admitted that he had not heard the song yet, but has read the lyrics, and does not approve of it.
Kanka also shared he found out about the song from one of his kids.
Meg’s latest single, “Hiss,” dropped like a bomb on Friday. In Hiss, the rapper took a shot at Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty.
“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” the Houston rapper said on “Hiss,” apparently referencing the federal law that requires information about registered sex offenders be made available to the public.
Listeners quickly clocked the line as a diss directed at Minaj and Petty.
Everyone awaits Megan’s reaction to Kansa’s disapproval.
