Megan Thee Stallion’s new track “Hiss,” has peaked No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking her third chart-topper.

The diss track follows her 2020 hits “Savage” with Beyoncé and Cardi B’s “WAP,” where she was featured.

Released on Hot Girl Productions, the song is her 1,163rd No. 1 and the 75th to debut at the top.

While she doesn’t mention any names on the song, Megan’s hard-hitting chart-topper is full of shots aimed at a variety of individuals.

“Hiss” received 29.2 million streams, 2.9 million radio airplay impressions, and sold 104,000 downloads in its first week January 26-Feburary 1.
The track offers both clean and explicit versions, released on January 26.

Megan Thee Stallion recently signed with Warner Music Group, with Roc Nation continuing its management role, as announced on February 2.

Heavy criticism

Megan Thee Stallion came under heavy criticism from Megan Kanka’s family following a lyrics in her latest song “Hiss.”

“Megan’s Law,” named after Megan Kanka, mandates sharing information about registered sex offenders with the public.

Megan Kanka was murdered in 1994 at the age of seven by a neighbour who wasn’t legally required to disclose his status.

Richard Kanka, Megan’s father, condemned Megan Thee Stallion for using his daughter’s name, as he considers it highly offensive to their painful memories.

He admitted that he had not heard the song yet, but has read the lyrics, and does not approve of it.

Kanka also shared he found out about the song from one of his kids.

Meg’s latest single, “Hiss,” dropped like a bomb.

In Hiss, the rapper took a shot at Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty.

“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” the Houston rapper said on “Hiss,” apparently referencing the federal law that requires information about registered sex offenders be made available to the public.

Listeners quickly clocked the line as a diss directed at Minaj and Petty.
