Jill Dando was a British journalist and television presenter who was murdered on April 26, 1999, outside her house in Fulham, London. Her death occurred when she was 37 years old.
Dando was born on November 9, 1961, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England. She studied English and Drama at the University of Exeter and then worked as a journalist for local newspapers and radio stations after graduating.
Moreover, Dando joined the BBC in 1986 as a newsreader on BBC Radio 2. She eventually switched to television, where she hosted a variety of shows such as Breakfast Time, Breakfast News, BBC One O’Clock News, and BBC Six O’Clock News.
Dando began co-hosting Crimewatch with Nick Ross in 1995. The show was a major success, and Dando rose to become one of the UK’s most popular and respected broadcasters.
