Since the death of Nigerian artiste, Mohbad, many people have been pointing fingers at Naira Marley and his friends. Most of these people are of the view that Marley has something to do with Mohbad’s death. There’re also speculations that the Marlian Music boss is currently in police custody. But is Naira Marley actually arrested? No, he has not been arrested.
Why people are calling out Marley after Mohbad’s death
Mohbad, whose full name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at a hospital in Nigeria. He was 27. Aftermath of his sudden demise, the musician’s fans and sympathizers all over Nigerian and across the world, started pointing accusing fingers at Marley.

But why are they all accusing Naira Marley?
Mohbad was signed to Marley’s record label, Marlian Music. However, he left the label after less than two years. During his time at the label, Mohbad suffered all forms of abuse which eventually led to his exit last year.
In October 2022, Mohbad accused his former boss and one Sam Larry who is said to be a close confidant of Marley, of assaulting him and destroying some properties belonging to him. The allegations drew a lot of condemnation to Marley, making him and his group furious. He also denied his former signee’s claims, saying he [Mohbad] was intoxicated. Surprisingly, Naira Marley was not arrested.
Furthermore, associates of the Marley had always harassed and threatened Moh. It was reported some time ago that Sam Larry and a few others stormed a location where the late musician and Zlatan Ibile were shooting a music video. According to sources, it was the intervention of Zlatan that prevented the “would-be” attackers from harming the late musician.
Moh himself had once petitioned the Lagos Police Command, telling them of the daily threats he faced from Marley, Sam Larry and the rest of their team, since he left his label. The police, however, did there quota to address the issues.
Is Naira Marley Arrested?
There are increasing calls for Marley to be arrested and investigated for the death of his former signee. However, as at the time of writing this article, the musician has not been arrested.
It is also not known if a formal report has been made to the police for Marley’s arrest.

Where is Naira Marley now?
Another interesting question people are asking is: “where is Naira Marley?” Marley’s current location is not known. Since the death of Mohbad, the Marlian Music boss has not been seen in public.
However, several unverified reports on social media platforms have it that the singer absconded to Amsterdam with one of his signees, Zinoleesky, who is also facing backlash for “betraying” his former label mate. Other reports also say Sam Larry is currently in Kenya.
Is Naira Marley alive?
Marley is still alive. Although his whereabouts is not known, the “Soapy” hitmaker is believed to be alive and in ‘hiding’, at least, for the time being.
