Is Jennifer Lopez set to retire from music? Here’s what we know

Jennifer Lopez is an American singer and actress, born on July 24, 1969, in New York City, United States.

With a career spanning four decades, Lopez is regarded as a pop icon and one of the most influential entertainers in the world.

Jennifer Lopez is set to release unreleased material after 10 years of not making a new album, with ‘This is me… Now’, an album that many suspect could put an end to her career in music.

2014 was the last time Lopez released an album with A.K.A..
Now, after a decade without new releases, Lopez is now launching ‘This is me… Now’, which is considered a sequel to ‘This is me… Then’, released in 2002.

Farewell to music

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jennifer Lopez revealed that she is already considering her farewell from the musical stage, since this new album represents for her the end of an era.

“I feel like it’s the end of kind of an era for me and the beginning of a new one, so I would never say never, but now I feel like I really put my heart and soul into this and I’m very happy, excited and it definitely took a lot out of me.”

Lopez, who entered Hollywood in 1993 and in 1997 received her first starring role in the film Selena, noted that with the release of her ninth studio album she feels fulfilled and does not see herself returning to the recording studios in the medium term.

“The truth is, I don’t even know if I’ll ever make another album after this one. It’s the quintessential Jennifer Lopez J.Lo kind of project and I really feel very accomplished, so it really will be collector’s items to some extent”.

Along with the promotion of this new album, Lopez is currently filming a movie she calls Unstoppable.

The movie is based on the book with the same name by wrestler Anthony Robles.
