Chief Keef’s Legal Issues

Chief Keef was arrested on January 27, 2011, on suspicion of producing and distributing heroin. He was placed under house arrest after it was decided that, as a juvenile offender, he was a “delinquent” rather than convicted of the counts against him.

He walked out of his grandmother’s house in December 2011 with a coat pulled over his hands and in front of his waistband. A cop pulled over to speak with the rapper. He let go of the coat, fired a pistol, and took off running.

Chicago Police announced on September 5, 2012, that Chief Keef was under investigation for a potential link to the shooting murder of Joseph Coleman, an Englewood native and fellow rapper who went by the stage name “Lil JoJo”.

Chief Keef started this after making fun of his demise on Twitter, which he subsequently claimed was the product of someone hacking onto his account. Coleman’s mother has stated unequivocally that Chief Keef paid to have her son murdered.

Chief Keef received a court summons on December 31, 2012, on an additional, unrelated charge of violating parole.

The prosecution stated that he neglected to inform his juvenile parole officer of his address change. On January 2, 2013, a hearing was scheduled.

Cook County judge Carl Anthony Walker granted him freedom despite the prosecution’ request for him to be placed in jail, stating that he had not been shown “any credible evidence” to support incarceration.

Chief Keef was taken into custody in January 2017 on suspicion of assaulting and robbing a producer named Ramsay Tha Great. He accused Chief Keef of robbing him of his Rolex watch and pointing guns at him.

The absence of proof led to the dismissal of these accusations. In June 2017, Chief Keef was taken into custody in South Dakota on charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and consuming cannabis.

Most recently, he was later freed on bond. He entered a plea of not guilty in April 2019 and was sentenced to probation.

Is Chief Keef dangerous?

Given his countless legal issues, Chief Keef will be perceived a dangerous man but the rapper is well-liked by the public for his range of vocal styles and cadences.
