Gwen Stefani Says She Has To Relearn

Gwen Stefani needs to prepare for the highly anticipated No Doubt reunion at the Coachella music festival in April by doing some studying beforehand

Who is Gwen Stefani?

Gwen Stefani is an American singer, songwriter, and fashion designer. She rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the band No Doubt and later pursued a successful solo career. Stefani is known for her distinctive voice, eclectic fashion sense, and hits such as “Hollaback Girl” and “The Sweet Escape.” She has also been a coach on the television show “The Voice.”

Personal Life

Gwen Stefani was born on October 3, 1969, in Fullerton, California. She was raised in Anaheim, California, with her siblings. Stefani’s interest in music began at a young age, and she performed in local bands before forming No Doubt in 1986. In 2002, she married British musician Gavin Rossdale, and they have three sons together. Stefani and Rossdale divorced in 2016. In 2014, Stefani began dating country musician Blake Shelton, whom she met while they were both coaches on “The Voice.” Stefani has been open about her struggles with dyslexia and how it has influenced her approach to learning and creativity. She is also known for her successful fashion line, L.A.M.B., which she launched in 2004. Stefani is actively involved in philanthropy, supporting various charitable causes related to children’s health and well-being. She continues to be a prominent figure in the music industry, known for her unique style and powerful vocals.

This week, the singer candidly confessed her need for a thorough review of some of the iconic ska-punk band’s timeless songs. During Wednesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” she chuckled, “I don’t remember them… Not at all!”

Stefani fronted No Doubt when they burst onto the music scene in the mid-90s, securing a string of hits well into the new millennium. The band’s last performance together was nearly a decade ago.

Speaking with host Jimmy Kimmel this week, Stefani revealed that rehearsals haven’t begun, and she must brush up on “eight or nine” No Doubt songs before the much-anticipated show.

Inadvertently, Stefani hinted that “Different People,” a track from No Doubt’s 1995 smash album “Tragic Kingdom,” might make it onto their setlist. She described it as “one of the first songs I ever wrote” and one she’ll likely need to revisit for the desert-themed music festival.

Amidst laughter, she quipped that if she forgets any lyrics, she’ll “just have to let them sing it for us,” gesturing towards the enthusiastic No Doubt fans in the audience. However, Stefani isn’t allowing nerves to overwhelm her. She expressed her excitement to Kimmel, stating that playing at Coachella will be “amazing” and that she’s “so excited” about it.

During their peak years, No Doubt gained recognition for their timeless hits such as “Don’t Speak,” “Just a Girl,” and “Spiderwebs,” among others. The band, consisting of Stefani, Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, and Adrian Young, released five albums from 1992 to 2001 before each member embarked on solo endeavors. In 2012, the quartet reunited and launched their sixth album, titled “Push and Shove.”

Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, and rapper Tyler, The Creator are among the headliners scheduled for this year’s Coachella, alongside other notable artists like Peso Pluma, Ice Spice, Blur, Sublime, and J. Balvin, who are set to grace one of the festival’s various stages.

The highly anticipated live music event is slated to make its return to Indio’s Empire Polo Field for two back-to-back weekends on April 12-14 and April 19-21.
