Kendra Leigh Wilkinson an American television personality and model, born on June 12, 1985 has decided to put an end to her self-imposed celibacy after six years.
Wilkinson came to spotlight as one of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends and for her role on the E! reality television series The Girls Next Door.
The series aired from 2005–2009, and focused on her life in the Playboy Mansion.
She also starred in her own reality shows, Kendra (2009–2011) and Kendra on Top (2012–2017).
Now, after six long years, the 38-year-old reality star opened up about her decision.
According to her, she abstained from intimacy due to shame over her sex-symbol status following her divorce from former NPL player Hank Baskett.
“It’s been so long since I’ve had sex – it’s been so long that I’ve had any,”Wilkinson admitted in a recent interview.
She added, “because I shamed myself on my sexuality too. Everyone sees me as a sex icon, so I shamed myself and I stayed away from anything sex. I almost became celibate.”
The “Girls Next Door” alum doesn’t seem interested in marriage for now, but she however expressed a desire to “start to have fun” again.
She noted that she is willing to moving forward in life and focus on personal growth.
“I can’t go back in time and rewire history, but I’m here to move forward in my life and upward, and live a good life. That’s what I’m here for,” she stated.
The mother of two, Hank Jr. and Alijah Mary is dedicated to maintaining a strong co-parenting relationship with her former husband.
Their marriage hit the rock in 2018 following allegations of infidelity.
Battle with depression
Wilkinson also opened up on her battle with depression that led to two hospitalizations last year. In her words, “I was dying of depression. I was hitting the end of my life, and I went into psychosis.”
However, she is ready to work with and accept her mental health challenges, embracing a brighter future.
“Right now, I’m focused on my kids, the love that they’re receiving from me and life, and raising them – and self-love,” she stressed.
