Who is Bob Risky?
Bobrisky, whose real name is Idris Okuneye, is a Nigerian internet personality, social media influencer, and entrepreneur. He gained prominence for his controversial online presence, particularly on platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, where he showcases his flamboyant lifestyle, makeup skills, and fashion choices. Bobrisky is known for challenging traditional gender norms in Nigeria by openly expressing his identity as a male who presents himself in a feminine manner. He has garnered both admiration and criticism for his bold and unapologetic approach to self-expression, often sparking discussions around gender identity and sexuality in Nigerian society. Additionally, Bobrisky has ventured into various business endeavors, including cosmetics and skincare products, and he has amassed a large following on social media.
Bobrisky keeps much of his personal life private, but he was born Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju in 1992 in Lagos State, Nigeria. He attended King’s College in Lagos before pursuing a degree in Accounting at the University of Lagos, although he reportedly dropped out. Bobrisky has publicly identified as male but presents himself in a feminine manner, often wearing makeup, wigs, and feminine clothing. He has faced controversy in Nigeria for his gender identity and has been criticized by some for his lifestyle and online persona. Despite the backlash, Bobrisky has maintained a strong presence on social media and has become a prominent figure in Nigerian pop culture.
Controversial figure from Nigeria, Idris Okunneye, more commonly known as Bobrisky, has finally addressed the accusation of propositioning comedian Bello Khabir.
According to a report by New Telegraph, Khabir alleged on his recent episode of The Esther Show podcast that Bobrisky is homosexual and once made advances towards him. Khabir disclosed that numerous individuals with similar inclinations approached him after he portrayed a female character in one of his comedy sketches.
He recounted, “Bobrisky approached me. This happened quite a while back, around 2017 or 2018, though the specifics evade me. When portraying the Pamela, Mama Felicia character, there’s a significant backstory due to its feminine nature. Consequently, I received some absurd propositions from such individuals; however, I refrain from naming them. They belong to the LGBTQ+ community.”
In response to these allegations, Bobrisky took to Instagram and posted a screenshot of Khabir’s attempt to message him. Bobrisky vehemently criticized the comedian, asserting that his career had long since dwindled and that he was merely seeking attention by associating with Bobrisky.
In his post, Bobrisky remarked, “My legal representative forwarded me this baseless claim from that irrelevant podcast, and I found it amusing. Your career has been defunct for ages, which is why you resort to leveraging my name for publicity. I find it amusing that he mentioned 2017. Let it be known to my genuine followers that I have blocked him since that year. My account has consistently remained private, and yet he incessantly attempted to contact me, perhaps seeking something which escapes my recollection. If a wealthy individual claims that the esteemed Mummy of Lagos has shown interest, I shall not engage in disputes. However, I maintain my standards and refrain from associating with individuals like that broke individual with a beard resembling that of a goat. I exude too much sophistication to entertain such trivialities.”
