Now, the energetic singer is set to make history as the first African artiste to perform at the Grammys live recording award show.

Born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, on July 2, 1991, Burna Boy spent the majority of his childhood in Southern Nigeria.
There, he lived with his mother, Bose Ogulu, who now plays the role of a mother and manager to him.

Burna Boy has recorded a high success in his music career. He is undoubtedly one of the biggest, if not the biggest artists in Africa as at the moment.
Burna recorded two mixtapes, Burn Notice and Burn Identity, after learning how to make beats with Fruity Loops and signing to Aristokrat Records.
In 2012, he launched the popular song “Like To Party” on this label. The song gained widespread acceptance and in no time catapulted him into the spotlight.
The first track of his debut studio album, LIFE, which was released on August 12, 2013, is called “Like To Party.”
The album also included the number-one hits Run My Race, Yawa Dey, Always Love You, and Tonight.
Burna Boy was nominated for The Headies’ 2013 Next Rated Artiste award. However, he lost the award to his colleague, Sean Tizzle.
At the 2014 Nigerian Entertainment Awards, his debut album L.I.F.E was nominated for Best Album Of The Year.
The 2024 Grammy
The Recording Academy, in a terse statement via X on Monday, January 22, 2024, disclosed that Burna Boy has been added to the performer lineup for the 2024 Grammys.
The ‘African Giant’ crooner was announced alongside Luke Combs and Travis Scott.
“Attention: African Giant @BurnaBoy will take the #GRAMMYs stage on Sunday, February 4 at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT on @CBS,” the Grammy organisers wrote on their X handle.
Other performers earlier announced include Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and Dua Lipa.
